Before you join a Civic Mission

Know what you are authorizing.

Every mission needs its own clear agreement. This framework describes what that agreement must disclose; reading this page or registering interest does not enroll you in a mission or grant access to your profile.

Your identity remains yours. Authorization permits the agreed analysis, under the stated conditions.

Eligibility and verification

Explain who can participate, how eligibility is established and which Checks and Balances attestation or other disclosed verification is required for the interaction. State the limits of what that verification proves.

Requested fields and access

List the exact fields and capabilities requested. Explain any mission-specific decryption, who or what will process the readable information, its purpose and how long access lasts. Participation must not require transfer of the participant's master identity private key.

Analysis and privacy methods

Describe the analysis, aggregation, de-identification method and privacy thresholds. Identify the allowed outputs, suppressed results and known limits. Keep human-confirmed responses distinguishable from participant-authorized agent executions.

Retention and withdrawal

State retention periods, the aggregation cut-off, withdrawal timing, deletion rules and how to end future access. Explain what can be removed before processing, after processing and after an aggregate report is completed.

Reward and publication

Disclose the Civic Dividend amount or calculation, eligibility, contribution requirements and payment timing. Rewards must not depend on viewpoint. State who receives the report, whether it becomes public and the permitted uses of the completed product.

Completed-report consequences

Explain that revoking future access does not automatically erase information already legitimately decrypted or remove contributions from completed aggregate outputs. Any limits on withdrawal must be understandable before authorization.

A separate choice for each mission

An agent's standing instruction is not blanket research consent. A founding-network registration is not a mission agreement. A shared identity is not permission for cross-application sharing.

Participants should be able to review the full terms and decide whether to authorize that specific mission when a supported workflow is available.
